Ashley Calafiore (B.F.A, P.A.E.C)

Ashley has been involved in the dance community for over thirty years. She is a full member of Performing Arts Educators of Canada in the Ballet division, and is certified with Acrobatic Arts in both modules 1 and 2. Ashley is a much sought after teacher and adjudicator across Canada, and an award winning choreographer for her innovative work in all disciplines of dance.

Dancing has been her passion from an early age, as she majored in dance in elementary school at the Claude Watson School for the Arts as well as in high school at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. It wasn’t until graduation from high school that she knew that she would have dance in her life forever. Her undergraduate studies continued at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia in their prestigious Contemporary Dance Program and finished with her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in Dance at York University in Toronto, Ontario.

Ashley has traveled extensively as both a dancer and as a teacher. She has performed as both a dancer and as dance captain for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. With a strong background in Acrobatics she was a featured aerialist performing flying harness work, hoop work and silk acts. As well as performing in Broadway revue shows “42nd Street”, “Sweet Charity”, and “Cabaret” to name a few.

Ashley’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious and her students have achieved excellence in all areas of dance. She is very excited to be able to share her passion and love for dance with all of the students at Energy Dance Arts Inc.

Billie Silvestri (H.B.A., B.Ed, P.A.E.C, C.D.T.A)

An award winning choreographer and teacher, Billie has been a part of the dance community for over 30 years, and as a dance educator for the past 20 years. A decade ago Billie fulfilled her dream of opening a dance studio, where she continues to have great success. Billie is a certified member of the Canadian Dance teachers Association and is also an active member of the Performing Arts Educators of Canada. Upon graduating from Unionville High School’s dance program where she majored in both ballet and modern, Billie completed her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education at York University.

Billie has performed professionally as a back-up dancer as well as in many charitable events and theatre shows. She continues to further her dance training at conventions, workshops and master classes in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York City.

Billie has had the occasion to choreograph for feature films, as well as short films and many children’s television programs. Her true passions lie in teaching and choreographing for young dancers. She has been the proud recipient of many awards in the dance community including the Innovation in Dance Award, numerous choreography awards and many overall high score awards at competitions. Billie’s students have gone on to study dance at University, have danced on cruise ships, and have performed with professional companies.
