Daniella Marotta
Assistant Director

Daniella has been dancing since she was three years old and hasn't stopped since! After focusing most of her training in ballet, she went on to expand her knowledge at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. It was here that she continued to complete her RAD syllabus exams including her Advanced 1 certificate. Daniella then received her BFA from Ryerson University's prestigious Dance program, where her studies included ballet, jazz and modern. It was there that Daniella had the opportunity to work with many prominent Toronto based choreographers and perform in multiple dance productions. Upon graduating in 2010, Daniella moved to Calgary to complete the professional program with Canada's leading Jazz company Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. There she had the opportunity to dance in DJD's elementary school tour of "The Jazz Show", and performed and choreographed in their productions of “Footprints”.

Since moving back, she has performed in the DanceOntario weekend festival in 2010 and 2012, “The 60 minute Dance Improv” with The Parahumans Dance Company, Fashion Art Toronto 2013 and The Toronto Fringe Festival 2013 with SkinDivers Dance Company.

She attended teachers college and obtained her BEd From York University’s Urban Diversity program in 2014 and is a Full and Standing member of PAEC in the discipline of Ballet.

Leann Phanthasomchit
Administrator
Leann joined our team in 2017 as one of our receptionists. She graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in Office Administration where she learned administrative skills. Leann also grew up as a competitive dancer, competing in all styles of dance. While studying at Seneca College, Leann continued her love of dance by joining the Seneca Sting Dance Team. There she competed at college and university dance competitions within Ontario. That same year she was named MVP and continues her journey with Seneca College as a choreographer. She persistently keeps dance in her life by working our front desk. We are so grateful to have Leann as one of our amazing administrators and hope you get to see how great she is too.
Lisa Hamilton Hrycajkiw
Associate Diploma CSC-CICB, TTP Dip. (NBS)
Born and raised in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Lisa began her dance training at the age 4. She studied ballet through the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) at Rothesay Ballet School and completed several RAD ballet exams before the age of 17.

In 1993 Lisa graduated from the Teacher Training Program and was awarded her Associate with the Cecchetti Society Teachers of Dance. Lisa has been teaching, children age 3 to adult, in numerous dance studios across the Toronto and York Region for over 20 years. Over this time she has prepared numerous students to successfully pass their Cecchetti Ballet exams - with honors. She is very proud of all her students, particularly those who have chosen dance as a career and have gone on to The National Ballet School, The Royal Winnipeg and Quinte Ballet School. In 2009 Lisa received her Associate Diploma and continues to upgrade her international credentials. Lisa continues to attend annual ballet workshops, teaching seminars and dance teacher summits in order to continue learning and growing as a teacher.

In Addition to being a long time choreographer for annual recitals, she has recently started to choreograph for competitive dance programs. Lisa has performed in many recitals and had the unique opportunity to dance for Colin James as a swing dancer. She has choreographed and appeared as a guest teacher at numerous studios across Ontario. She is passionate about dance and looks forward to training more students while focusing on strong classical technique.

In addition to teaching and choreographing, Lisa was the office manager for a ballet school in the GTA for over five years. This provided her with outstanding experience in the administration required to operate a dance school. Lisa has a passion for dance, theatre and travel and hopes to inspire and pass this onto her students.

A.J. LoPresti

An award winning choreographer, teacher & adjudicator, A.J LoPresti has over 25 years of experience in the performing arts. A.J. studied at Sheridan Institute in the Musical Theatre Program and has trained in Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, Tribal, Swing, Lyrical, Fosse, Broadway and Contemporary.

A.J. had some exposure on So You Think You Can Dance Canada - Season 4, as he was part of the top 150 finalists. A.J. had the opportunity to dance in Disney's movie "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" working alongside Ashley Tisdale and some of the other High School Musical celebrities. A.J. also had the opportunity to choreograph and perform in Stacey Kay's music video "Island Girl".

A.J. has performed in a number of shows in Toronto including Highschool Musical 2, the Canadian Premiere of Hey Marilyn and Panopticon, as well as Gypsy, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Anne of Green Gables and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. A.J. has also been part of several high profile dance companies including; The Dance Concept, Black White and Acoustic and InDou Dance Works.

A.J. has won numerous awards and scholarships for his dancing including the title of Teen Mr. Dance Canada at the Dance Masters of America (DMA) pageant, and runner up at the National DMA pageant. A.J. enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge with future generations of dancers. the

Julia Carnevale

Julia Carnevale has been a part of the dance community for over 30 years. She has trained in all streams of dance such as jazz, tap, ballet, acrobatics, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, break-dance, Latin, ballroom and many more. As a professional dancer, instructor and choreographer, she places extreme value on the versatility of a dancer and believes they should embrace as many styles of dance possible.

Julia’s passion and excellence of dance can be seen both on and off screen. Some of her many dance credits include the films “Honey”, featuring Jessica Alba, “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” featuring Lindsay Lohan, along with other independent film productions. She also carries an impressive list of video and live performances for Aaron Carter, Jully Black, Jamie Fox, Flo Rida, Lady Gaga, and several other Canadian artists.

Julia most recently travelled around the world dancing for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. That amazing journey allowed her the opportunity to work with some of the best dancers and choreographers worldwide. The culmination of all her experiences has contributed to her well rounded curriculum of dance and made her the positive, outgoing and enthusiastic teacher she is with an ability to inspire her classroom.

Lindsay Eberlin

Lindsay has been dancing since the age of 5.  Her passion and love for dance grew when she joined the competitive dance team at her studio at age 7. She has been a part of the Energy Dance Arts competitive team for over 7 years where she has immensely grown as a dancer and as a person. Lindsay has competed at over 40 dance competitions throughout Ontario over the past 11 years. She has been entered in many solos, duets, trios, and group numbers where she has received many overall and special awards.

Lindsay is trained in jazz, ballet, tap, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, musical theatre, and modern.  Lindsay has successfully completed Elementary 1 and 2, and Intermediate 1 and 2, ballet examinations through the Performing Arts Educators of Canada which have greatly enhanced her ballet knowledge and technique. Lindsay is entering her final year in the Arts Dance program at Alexander Mackenzie High School where she has been provided with many performance opportunities to further develop her training. Lindsay has had the privilege to choreograph dance pieces at Beverley Acres Public School for their school productions as well as Alexander Mackenzie’s annual Dance Expressions show.  Lindsay is thrilled to be a part of the Energy Dance Arts faculty and cannot wait for the upcoming season!
Shir Ziskind

Shir Ziskind has been dancing since the age of three and has grown immensely as a dancer ever since. She has been trained in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet (Cecchetti and P.A.C.E), Pointe, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Heels, Jazz Funk and House. Her passion for dance took flight when she started to dance competitively and continued as she later joined the Energy Dance Arts competitive team at the beginning of her high school career, competing in group numbers, trios and solos across Ontario. During her time at Energy Dance Arts, Shir has also completed many ballet examinations with the Performing Arts Educators of Canada (P.A.C.E.). Shir joined the specialized Arts Westmount Dance Program at Westmount Collegiate Institute back in 2012, exposing herself to new dance styles such as Modern -Limon and Graham technique- , Latin, Dance Hall, Stomp and more. She has participated in workshops with growing artists such as Kristen Carcone, David Norsworthy, Belinda McGuire, Erin Jacobson and Briia Comilang. While dancing at her high schools Arts Program, Shir helped choreograph multiple dances in Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Lyrical for the Arts Westmount dance showcase. After proudly graduating from the Arts Westmount Dance Program and the Energy Dance Arts competitive team, Shir went on to be the Head of Dance at Camp Shalom, Dance Specialist and Assistant Camp Director at camp Dance-To-Da-Beat with the City of Vaughan, choreographing multiple dances in Hip Hop and Jazz. Shir continues her dance training by being a part of dance clubs offered by her University and taking classes in various styles and difficulties at studios in Toronto, such as The Underground Dance Center and Millennium Dance Complex. Her constant training has helped Shir to further expand her array of movement and dance ability, keeping her up to date with the latest choreography and styles in the industry.

Shir enjoys working with children of all ages in various art forms. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of dance with the students at Energy Dance Arts!

Alyssa Ialongo

Alyssa has been dancing since the age of ten. She has been trained competitively in disciplines such as tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical and pointe for five years. Her love for dance grew after joining the Energy Dance Arts competitive team. Being surrounded by people who shared the same passion for dance allowed Alyssa to work to her fullest potential and become a stronger dancer. She has entered in over twenty competitions throughout Ontario in the past five years where she has obtained overall and special awards for her trios, solos and group dances. She has also completed many ballet examinations through the Preforming Arts Educators of Canada (PACE). Alyssa is still preforming at numerous competitions constantly putting in her best efforts to expand her dance knowledge and further advance her technique.

Alyssa is very excited to be a part of the Energy Dance faculty.  Her positive and encouraging personality helps allow her students work to their fullest potential while having fun! She is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with her students this year!
